Visualization is a powerful mental technique that is used to mentally practice your disciplines without physically getting in the water. Visualizing yourself performing a dive to perfection has been scientifically shown to improve your performance and most of the top freediving athletes practice it to some degree.
Visualizations are the most effective when they exactly match your dive. Going into greater detail about the way you breathe up before a dive, the number of strokes you take before you hit freefall, what you think about while doing a dive and more during a session will result in better mental practice, resulting in greater benefits.
This custom visualization session begins with an extensive questionnaire where you answer specific questions about your dive. Once completed, I then craft a visualization session specifically tailored to you, the way you dive, and your mental and equipment setup. This session is given to you as a download, which you can use at any time.
The session includes the following components:
- Guided body scan for relaxation
- Guided meditation on a topic of your choice OR a second guided visualization of a dive in the same discipline
- Guided visualization of a dive in the discipline of your choice
